“Irish Flight”
by Bob Stegner
An Irish summer cast in shadow
Shrouded in silky skies
Our hearts soar
Between green and low hanging clouds
Capturing the moments
Flying on
Sailing through valleys
Riding updrafts of ecstatic, wind laden joy
Eyeing gathering storms at sea
We see them all
And fly on
A flute
A lute
A musical line guides us
An Irish summer takes us
Soft dew surrounds us
We fly on
Her eyes, my mindscape
We glide, wondering and laughing
Towards an Irish summer
We fly on
Heather and cliffs of green
Breezes and flights of love
Sea birds take to the sky
All of them enfolded in our soft, serene
Irish dream
We…fly on
