Did you too see it, drifting, all night, on the black river?

Did you see it in the morning, rising into the silvery air –

An armful of white blossoms,

A perfect commotion of silk and linen as it leaned

into the bondage of its wings; a snowbank, a bank of lilies,

Biting the air with its black beak?

Did you hear it, fluting and whistling

A shrill dark music – like the rain pelting the trees – like a waterfall

Knifing down the black ledges?

And did you see it, finally, just under the clouds –

A white cross Streaming across the sky, its feet

Like black leaves, its wings Like the stretching light of the river?

And did you feel it, in your heart, how it pertained to everything?

And have you too finally figured out what beauty is for?

Another Edit Update: Book III of the Alban Saga: VORTEX

 

 

The editing process for the third and final book of the Alban Saga trilogy, VORTEX, is going well! The first edit is complete, and the second edit is progressing well, with five chapters out of thirty-four finished so far! 

In the second edit, there’s still basic editing happening, but less of it. Also, the plot, relative to the different characters and plot lines, continues to be monitored. That’s the most complex task going on right now. So, the spreadsheet that was created during the first edit to keep track of all the dates, characters, and time travel has been really helpful!

The book will probably go through a total of three edits before that process is completely done, and I hope to have VORTEX published by the end of May.

Poetry Along A Hiking Trail In Washington State

 

Lyre Conservation Area Hike Near Joyce, WA

I was recently hiking this trail with my daughter and son-in-law. It's located on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. I noticed some signs along the way with poetry on them. It was a wonderful addition to the hike!

Below, I've included a picture of two of them. One has a poem from Edna St Vincent Millay and the other comes from one of my favorite poets, Mary Oliver!

FOR FUN! Here's A Piece Of My Family History.

My Great Grandfather!

This is a picture that my brother sent to me with the information below!

On April 9, 1865, General Robert E. Lee surrendered the Army of Northern Virginia to General Ulysses S. Grant of the United States Army at the Appomattox Court House in Virginia. Union Army Lieutenant Andrew J Bowman was there. He is my Great Grand Father. We have his diary that he kept during the Civil War. His picture is the one you see above. According to his diary, he was very fond of President Lincoln.

I can't help wondering what he would have thought of Trump?

More Evidence Of King Arthur's Existence!
